This week, radically-minded militants from the 35, 24 and 53rd brigades opened fire nine times using automatic grenade launchers and small arms at Novolaspa, Dolomitnoye, Zaytsevo (southern), the village of the Gagarin Mine (Gorlovka), Kominternovo, Donetsk, Dzerzhinskoye and Sakhanka, spokesman for the DPR People’s Militia Directorate Colonel Eduard Basurin reported during the briefing on 14 August.

Along with combat provocations, Ukrainian armed forces are defying the full range of additional measures for the enhancement and control of the ceasefire, agreed and signed by representatives of the Ukrainian party to the Contact Group.

Our intelligence confirms that AFU units deploy weapons and military equipment near residential buildings and municipal facilities in the Ukraine-controlled territory, thus violating the measures and endangering the lives and health of civilians.

Our intelligence confirms that the AFU deployed 69 units of armament this week week.

Our observers recorded fourteen cases when militants from the 24, 79, 53, 35 and 36th brigades were carrying out engineering works on building up new positions with the use of explosive devices in the areas of Pavlopol, Mayorsk, Novgorod, Naberezhnoye, Novomikhaylovka, Novoluganskoye, Vodyanoe, Shumy, Novotroitskoye, Maryinka and Zaytsevo.

Taking advantage of the armistice, the armed forces of Ukraine continue to plant mines indiscriminately. The enemy planted a total of 52 anti-tank mines (TM-62), thereby mined an area of about 318 square meters in the vicinity of Berezovoye and Vodyanoye this week.

In addition, militants from the 54th brigade remotely planted 40 anti-personnel mines PMN-2 under the guise of a demining operation in the area of the Donetsk Filter Station.

To disable the OSCE Mission from discovering the locations of military equipment, engineering works and terrain mining in the zones of responsibility of the 35, 36, 57, 54 and 53rd brigades, the enemy was using EW means against the OSCE SMM’s drones.

These acts endanger the security and safety of civilians, international monitors and the effective ceasefire. We call on the leadership of the OSCE Mission to ensure that the Ukrainian side complies with the requirements of the agreements they signed.
