On Monday of July 27, near the Memorial “To the Defenders and Residents of the Town of Shakhtyorsk and the Shakhtyorsk District Who Died During Hostilities in July-August 2014”, Shakhtyorsk traditionally hosted a rally dedicated to the sixth anniversary of the beginning of hostilities, the press service of the Donetsk Republic Public Movement reports. The event was attended by Chairman of the DPR People’s Council Vladimir Bidyovka, Head of the Shakhtyorsk Administration Alexander Shatov, Heroes of the DPR Vladimir Kononov and Sergey Velikorodny, MPs of the DPR People’s Council Maxim Parshin, Kirill Makarov and Fyodor Berezin, relatives of the victims, militiamen and citizens.
“The war came to Donbass in the summer of 2014. Shakhtyorsk is a town that did not back down from the trials. Its residents defended their land. At the cost of their lives, health, loss of relatives and friends. We are grateful for the great feat to those who stood up to defend their Homeland. For the fact that we can live, work, that our children can enjoy the sun, go to school, do not need to hide in basements, as the criminal Ukrainian government wanted. We will honor the memory of the feat of our compatriots and pass it on to our children and grandchildren,” Vladimir Bidyovka stressed.
After a mass for those killed during the hostilities in July-August 2014, those present laid flowers at the memorial.
