The armed forces of Ukraine did not carry out fire provocations for the past 24 hours, spokesman for the DPR People’s Militia Directorate Oleg Nikitin gave the details on August 13.
“We register that the enemy has violated the first paragraph of the additional measures for the enhancement and control of the effective truce, particularly, the ban on offensive and reconnaissance-sabotage activities, which, according to the agreements, are referred to as attempts to change the original position of troops and additional position hardening. Our lookouts continue to register fortification works in three areas: Shumy, the 137th battalion of the 35th marine brigade; Novoluganskoye, the 2nd battalion of the 24th separate mechanized brigade; and Novotroitskoye, the 24th battalion of the 53rd separate mechanized brigade,” he said.
According to Nikitin, one enemy soldier died and one was wounded by an explosive device that detonated near positions of the 18th battalion of the 35th marine brigade in Novgorodkoye.
“We hope that the Ukrainian command will be able to settle the situation with truce violators on their own in the shortest possible time, so DPR People’s Militia units will not have to resort to emergency measures provided for by the agreements reached,” Nikitin said.
Moreover, in violation of the ban on the use of all kinds of aircraft, a Mavic PRO drone from the 503rd battalion of the 35th brigade was spotted in the area of Shumy. It was trying to carry out intelligence activities.
“Defenders of the Republic did not give in to this provocation, did not open fire and were watching the enemy, strictly observing the ceasefire,” the spokesman for the DPR PMD noted.
According to him, it has been confirmed that AFU units deploy weapons and military equipment near residential houses and municipal facilities in the territory controlled by Ukraine, which is a violation of the measures taken and endangers the lives and health of civilians.
