As the result of today’s round of negotiations, representatives of official Kiev committed themselves to submit for discussion their proposals on the draft Road Map, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic reports.
“We welcome the fact that the Ukrainian side has finally undertaken to draw up and send its version of such an important comprehensive document as the action plan for conflict settlement in accordance with the Minsk Agreements. Next Wednesday we expect the relevant document from official Kiev for further review and analysis. We hope that this draft, like the version we submitted earlier, will cover all negotiating areas and issues, including amendments to the Constitution, and will contain clear timeframes for fulfilling the obligations on conflict settlement so that the Contact Group members can start discussing and agreeing on a consolidated version of the Road Map. A consensus must be found and a single document coordinated, then approved by the Verkhovna Rada, which will simultaneously confirm Ukraine's commitment to the Minsk Agreements and the mandate of its representatives to the talks. In turn, this will unlock the work of all specialized groups and bring real progress,” Natalya Nikonorova told about the meeting of the Contact Group.
The DPR envoy expressed the hope for continuation of effective work in the format of written exchange of proposals. It will possible to start substantive and effective work on all negotiating tracks only when written positions of the parties appear on the table of the negotiations.
