Ukrainian armed forces violated the Complex of Additional Ceasefire Control Measures four times over the past 24 hours, a spokesman for the DPR PMD reported at the briefing in Donetsk on December 17.
  • At the Gorlovka front, militants from the 35th AFU brigade’s 503rd marine battalion opened fire with small arms on the village of Mine 6-7 in Gorlovka.
  • At the Mariupol front, the AFU fired ten 120mm mortar shells at Kominternovo.
Also, our observers and video monitoring equipment twice recorded violations of Clause 1 of the Additional Measures. In particular, the enemy was conducting engineer work to retrofit positions of the 56th AFU brigade’s 23rd motorized infantry battalion near Peski and the 36th AFU brigade’s marine battalion near Vodyanoye, where one explosion occurred. In violation of Clause 3 of the Additional Measures, the AFU deployed four units of armament and military equipment near residential buildings and municipal facilities in the Ukraine-controlled territory. In particular, two BMP-1 armored personnel carriers from the 72nd separate mechanized brigade were deployed on the outskirts of Avdeyevka in the grounds of a separate house. A BMP-1 was deployed from the 79th separate airborne assault brigade near residential buildings in Krasnogorovka, another BMP-1 was deployed in Maryinka. Since the beginning of the current 24-hour period, militants from the 36 brigade's marine battalion again opened mortar fire on the Leninskoye area, having fired ten 120mm shells in the direction of the village from their positions near Vodyanoye. In order not to let civilian casualties happen, the Republic's defenders made a timely decision to suppress militants’ firing activity by using weapons not prohibited by the Minsk Agreements. The enemy was also carrying out engineer works in the area of Vodyanoye, where eight explosions occurred. The facts of gross ceasefire violation were promptly reported to representatives of the Ukrainian party to the JCCC in order to take action against the violators and exclude the possibility of falsifying data on ceasefire violations by Ukrainian militants.
