Over the past 24 hours, the AFU violated the Complex of Additional Ceasefire Compliance Measures 9 times, having carried out 8 provocations with the use of weaponry, spokesman for the DPR PMD Oleg Nikitin reported at the briefing on January 22. At the Donetsk front, militants from the 28th AFU brigade, in violation of Clause 2 of the Additional Measures, opened fire twice on the Staromikhailovka area with 120mm mortars, SPG, AGS and small arms, having launched three shells and 18 grenades. 20 shots were also fired with the use of a BMP-2. As the result of the attack, three houses are damaged at 20, 24 and 32 Chkalova Street. At the Mariupol front, militants from the 36th separate marine brigade carried out 6 provocations, having used 82mm mortars, grenade launchers of various types and small arms against Oktyabr, Zaichenko, Sakhanka and Bezymyannoye, having fired 17 shells and 26 grenades. We regret to inform you that as the result of enemy attacks, two of our defenders were wounded, one of whom died. We offer our sincere condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased. In addition, our observers registered a violation of Clause 1 of the Additional Measures, namely, militants from the 36th AFU brigade’s marine battalion were conducting engineer work in the Talakovka area.
“The facts of violation have been reported to representatives of the Ukrainian side to the JCCC in order to take action against the violators and exclude the falsification of data on ceasefire violations by Ukrainian militants. We call on international observers to immediately intervene in what is happening and force the Ukrainian military and political leadership to comply with the Minsk Agreements, demanding in writing that the Ukrainian side conduct thorough investigations into the facts of firing, in accordance with Clause 4 of the Additional Measures, to bring commanders of the 28th and 36th brigades Marchenko and Gnatov to criminal liability,” Oleg Nikitin stressed.
According to our sources, in the zone of responsibility of the 36th AFU brigade’s marine infantry battalion near Talakovka, Ukrainian militants opened fire with small arms at an UAV belonging to the OSCE SMM in order to conceal the deployment of prohibited weapons. The monitors managed to get the drone out of the firing and land it in a safe area. The enemy also used a Bukovel-AD electronic warfare station from the mobile electronic warfare team of the 36th separate marine brigade to jam the flight control and navigation channels of OSCE SMM drones in the areas of Gnutovo, Pishchevik and Shirokino not to allow detecting mortar crews deployed in these localities. For the same purpose, in the responsibility zone of the 28th AFU brigade’s 1st mechanized battalion, a flying squad of the 306th separate EW battalion was jamming the flight control and navigation channels of OSCE UAVs in the Maryinka area.
