Ex-AFU soldier Anatoly Taranenko met with DPR Commissioner for Human Rights Daria Morozova and appealed to international human rights organizations with a request to prevent the persecution of his children by the Ukrainian authorities and radicals, the press office of the DPR People's Militia Directorate reports. The Ombudsperson submitted corresponding requests to international organizations to investigate into this complaint and take the necessary measures to ensure and protect the rights and freedoms of the complaintant's children.
“During the conflict in Donbass, on many occasions we have witnessed facts of pressure exerted by the Ukrainian special services on the residents of Ukraine, whose relatives have the citizenship of the DPR and are in the territory of the Republic. We were also able to establish the blatant disregard for civilians’ rights and freedoms and the norms of international humanitarian law on the part of the Ukrainian authorities. Unfortunately, this suggests that the complainant’s fears are not unfounded. In a situation like this, I look forward to due consideration of the subject by international organizations and the human rights community. The civilian population must be protected from the criminal arbitrary conduct of the Ukrainian security forces,” Daria Morozova said.
It should be reminded that the serviceman of the AFU's 1st separate tank brigade willingly crossed into the territory of the Republic on 28 January 2021. According to the Private, such his action was motivated, among other, by hazing, moral and physical abuse of soldiers in the Ukrainian army.
