As noted by the Head of the Republic of Crimea, the fact that the developments of 2014 resulted in success - the reunification of Crimea with Russia, is the merit of all Crimeans, the people's militia, all Russians who supported Crimea, and, of course, the President of the Russian Federation.
“Without all of this, there would be no peaceful skies over our heads today, no prospects for development, no confidence in the future,” Sergey Aksyonov said.
The Head of the Donetsk People's Republic, in his turn, stressed that all those who are loyal to the ideals of the Russian World celebrate the anniversary of the milestone events of the spring of 2014 on this day along with the Crimeans.
"Friends! Seven years ago you won a historic victory, and the Russian flag was raised over Crimea. You have entered a new era in your development, preserving history, culture, native language and traditions – the major values that Ukraine chose as a target to divide the Russian people. Today, as part of the great country, Crimea is confidently heading towards consolidating stability and prosperity,” Denis Pushilin said.
The Head of the DPR expressed confidence that the Russian Donbass will definitely win, because this is the will of the Republic residents, and they are supported by friends and like-minded people in this regard.
“Donbass, like Crimea, responded with dignity to the attempts of Ukrainian neo-Nazis to severe their native ties with Russia. To this day, we continue to defend our choice and ardent desire to return to our historical roots. Russian Donbass will definitely win! Because we have your support and the help of our loyal friends and like-minded people! And the most important thing is the desire of the citizens of the Republic. We are united by a common goal – to firmly link our future to the Russian people. Our historical destiny lie only with Russia!" Denis Pushilin said.
Sergei Tsekov, Russian Senator, Chairman of the Russian Community of Crimea, member of the International Council of Russian Compatriots and the World Coordination Council of Russian Compatriots Living Abroad, noted that the Day of the Reunification of Crimea with Russia is the most important day in the history of the peninsula over the past 300 years.
“Today, the citizens of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics are at the forefront of the Russian World defenders. It was easier for us, let's face it. That is because all of it passed peacefully here. They are defending themselves up in arms, at the cost of thousands of lives. At the same time, they are defending not only themselves, they are denfending their compatriots living abroad. They are defending us – the citizens of the Russian Federation. I want to express my profound gratitude to the citizens of Donbass in the person of Denis Vladimirovich for their desire for freedom, for their courage and heroism. We have been striving for Russia for 23 years, and our dream came true in 2014. I believe that the dream of Donbass will also come true. And Donbass will join Russia. Happy holiday, dear friends! Happy reunification of Crimea with Russia! Freedom to Donbass!" Sergey Tsekov said.
Earlier, the Head of the DPR took part in the ceremony of presenting state awards of the Donetsk People's Republic and the Republic of Crimea, and also laid flowers at the monuments to the People's Militia of All Times and the "Polite People" in Simferopol.
