Today, on January 18, during the working visit to the Republic of Crimea of the Russian Federation, Head of the Donetsk People's Republic Denis Pushilin took part in the celebrations on the 367th anniversary of the Pereyaslav Council and laid flowers at the monument to Bogdan Khmelnitsky in Simferopol, the press service of the Administration of the Head of the DPR informs.
“This is both symbolic and right, and carries a certain connotation. Both Crimea and Donbass know the price of living on their land, professing the values that our citizens accept. Crimea and Donbass are an integral part of the Russian World. Our hearts ache for the ordinary inhabitants of Ukraine, who are now forced to stay in the country that is unsustainable for a number of objective reasons. We must draw conclusions from history. For many people it is now obvious that Ukraine should exist only within the framework of the Great Country. In that case, there really will be a productive process, there will be development, and it will correspond to the interests and demands of the citizens. One might rewrite the history, substitute the values, but that would not bring any positive prospects in general,” Denis Pushilin said.
The Head of the Republic also noted that Donbass and Crimea are inseparable parts of the Russian World.
“From the first days, the residents of Donbass, along with the Crimeans, fought for the right to return to their Homeland. Crimea is Russian. We are still going up this road, but each step we take is a step towards the main thing — becoming a part of Russia,” he added.
